I specialise in translation in the areas of commerce, health and beauty, arts and culture, current affairs and the not-for-profit sector. I am also interested in translating for the travel and tourism sector. 

I work with a wide range of material; this includes official documents such as passports and certificates, presentations, product manuals, marketing handbooks, interviews, press releases, news articles and UN summary records and standards. I have also translated a contemporary novel.

I also offer checking, editing, proofreading and text revision services. I will check your English-language text for accuracy, correct spelling and punctuation, suggesting changes where needed to make your document read more naturally and fluently.  I can adjust your text so that the content is appropriate for the English-speaking market. 

Before I accept your translation project I will ask you some questions. These will include your aims for the material and the intended audience. After all, there’s quite a difference between translating a document for your own information and translating the marketing material needed to introduce your product to new customers. I will assess the required tone and register, as well as any specialist terminology present in the source material.

If the source material contains terminology which is unique to your organisation and has not previously been translated, we may need to talk about how you would like this rendered in English. Finally, your text may require adaptation or the addition of explanatory notes where the original writer refers to concepts or ideas that are unfamiliar to an English-speaking audience.
